Psyduck Ascended Heroes Price Rise: Japanese vs English Version Market Review
Overview: Psyduck Ascended Heroes Is Moving Up
Psyduck has become one of the most interesting modern Pokémon cards to watch. Although Psyduck is not usually treated as a main chase Pokémon like Charizard, Pikachu, or Eeveelutions, this artwork has attracted strong attention from collectors because of its peaceful ocean scene, nostalgic Gen 1 appeal, and Illustration Rare style.
English Psyduck 226/217 Ascended Heroes Price Rise
The English version, Psyduck 226/217 Illustration Rare from Mega Evolution: Ascended Heroes, has shown a strong price increase. According to recent market tracking, early sales were around US$61 to US$80 in February and March 2026. By late May 2026, recent sales had moved to around US$100 to US$113.
Based on this movement, the English Psyduck has increased by roughly 40% to 80%, depending on which early sale price is used as the starting point. PriceCharting currently shows an ungraded value around US$104, while TCGplayer listings are mostly around the US$100+ range.

My Personal Opinion: Why I Think Psyduck Is Rising in Price
In my opinion, Psyduck is rising because this card has something many modern cards do not have: simple but memorable artwork. The ocean background, relaxing mood, and cute Psyduck expression make the card easy to like even for casual collectors.
I also feel that Psyduck benefits from strong Gen 1 nostalgia. Many collectors grew up seeing Psyduck in the anime, especially as Misty’s funny and confused Pokémon. Because of that, this card connects emotionally with older collectors while still looking fresh for new collectors.
Another reason I believe the price is moving up is that collectors are starting to notice cards beyond the usual chase Pokémon. Not everyone can afford the most expensive cards in a set, so beautiful Illustration Rare cards like Psyduck can become attractive alternatives. Once more people start buying and holding near-mint copies, supply becomes tighter and the price can rise quickly.
Should Collectors Buy Psyduck Now?
For collectors who love the artwork, Psyduck is definitely a card worth watching. The English version is already trading at a premium, while the Japanese version still has a lower entry price. However, prices for modern Pokémon cards can change fast, especially when hype increases or more supply enters the market.
Personally, I think this card is better as a collection piece first and an investment second. If you like the artwork and want to keep it long term, both the Japanese and English versions are interesting choices.
Final Thoughts
Psyduck from Ascended Heroes and MEGA Dream ex has become a strong example of how artwork, nostalgia, and collector demand can push a card upward. The English Psyduck 226/217 is currently the premium version, while the Japanese Psyduck 199/193 remains the more affordable version with strong growth percentage.
